My 6 years old never “played“ a piano until he met Ms. Nishidate. Until then he would want to play on his term with him making up sounds. He did not want to learn the names of those keys he was pushing. Ms. Nishidate understood his creativity and approached patiently with clear directions on what to do. They were small but sure steps on every lesson, which was filled with some challenges and lots of compliments for practices he had done. 30 minutes lesson seemed like 10 minutes for him. He now love actually playing music and cannot wait to see Ms. Nishidate.

I have an almost nine years old daughter diagnosed with Asperger and ADHD. Miss Misaki has been her teacher for a few years now. She has become not just my daughter's piano teacher; instead, they are friends. Miss Misaki goes really deep in understanding her students' individual learning necessities; I see that in every single group recital. She has exploited my daughter's talents in a way no one else could have done. She has a lot of patience.

Miss Misaki is super structured in each class. She uses several learning tools such as apps, cards, toys (Elmo), stickers, and more. Super happy we found Miss Misaki.

I’ve been getting piano lessons for some time and now voice lessons. Misaki really works with you on an individual level. She takes time to research songs I want to learn to makes the lessons interesting, fun and challenging. I have been visiting/interviewing piano teachers for my 5-year-old son. I am quite “picky” in finding the right teacher. However, When I met Misaki. I know immediately that she is the right one. When we were on the way to her place for a trial lesson, my son fell asleep in the car. He was fussy and didn’t want to participate at the beginning. In a few minutes, Misaki got his attention with a few tricks (even made me laugh!) and he cooperated for the next 30 min! Misaki interacted with my son in a very natural way. She is very nice but she is firm. She is in full control of the class. When my son is off the track, she brought him back nicely and quickly. To me, this is very important for a teacher of young kids. When Misaki taught my son, she also sang along from time to time. She has such a beautiful voice. I was very impressed. Later on, I found out that she won 1st place as a singer at Yokohama music festival for two consecutive years. To me, that was a nice add-on for a piano lesson :) She also travels to perform often which means she keeps up with her skills. At the end, my son went home playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star after the free trial lesson! I am very happy I found Misaki. She is new to this area so I am pretty sure her schedule will be filled up quickly.

I have been taking trumpet lessons from Misaki for a little over five months now.I have learned so much from her.Misaki is a very knowledgeable and patient music teacher. She also listens and always makes sure you understand the lessons .If you have questions about the lesson you can always call or email her.She always answers .I would recommend Misaki to anyone starting trumpet or has been playing and wants to improve.I had finished my lesson with her one afternoon and was getting ready to leave I watched her give a little girl a piano lesson she is really great with little children ,She is a wonderful person .

Misaki is a genuine and expert teacher of piano and music theory for my daughters (10 & 7). She supports their individual skill sets and learning styles, making their lessons fun and making amazing progress with each of them. They not only learn to play songs, they understand and read music, which they enjoy. I don't even have to make them practice every day, they do it on their own! I don’t think Miss Misaki knows how important she’s been to my family. When my teenage boy started learning piano with her last year, I had hopes that he would learn to love music and the instrument. Miss Misaki, with her outgoing and patient personality, not only has taught him well but has inspired him to pursue music as a future career. I also noticed that miss Misaki’s demeanor is so relatable that it has helped my son come out of his shyness. I can see that his self-esteem has vastly improved since he knows that he can play an instrument and read a music sheet. You see, he was a speech-delayed boy for most of his childhood and now, little by little, his confidence has been blossoming through speaking the language of music. I am so grateful!

My 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son have been taking care of me for about 2 years. Misaki Sensei always teaches kindly and carefully. There are recitals twice a year, and the children are happy to play the songs they want to play.

It's been 4 months since I started taking Misaki Sensei's piano class. Thanks to the teacher's cheerful personality and accurate instructions, my daughter has improved and is having more fun playing the piano than before. He carefully teaches me how to play and the meaning of notes each time, which is very helpful!

Miss Misaki is an amazing piano teacher. She's patient, diligent with the students learning style and always makes learning the piano fun. My daughter is completely blind and even though Misaki had never taught a blind student before she was willing to try. She spent countless hours researching the best ways to teach my daughter and because of her, my daughter is becoming a proficient, confident pianist.
